The Basic Course Pattern is an abstract solution to recurring design problems that you may experience when first starting to create your online course. The term was originally used in architecture, but it has been applied more recently to pedagogical patterns...documenting good practices in teaching. In architecture, the placement of doors, gates, windows, and other elements are design patterns that recur in many buildings. The idea of a lobby in a large office building is a design pattern. Over time, these patterns can lead to the discovery of an entirely new way of delivering your education online. You will be provided with the knowledge to be able to create a dynamic course so get ready to create all of the necessary media and content for your course!
The goal of this course is to provide instructors with an understanding of the Moodle Learning Management System's basic functionality. Upon successful completion, you will be able to start developing your own Moodle course sites and for traditional face-to-face courses. You can think of this course as addressing those items you would need to know as a “course creator” in Moodle.
