Hash or hashish is the resin collected from the flowers of the cannabis plant and a colloquial term. The active ingredient in the hash is Tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC) and hash can be smoked in joints or out of bongs or pipes. The effects of a high caused by smoking hash include sleepiness, pain relief, a feeling of relaxation, and increased appreciation of music and food. Most of the THC from hash is absorbed and catalyzed within the first few seconds of entry into the body, so holding smoke into the lungs for a longer amount of time will not hasten the achieved high.

Hash Oil

Hash oil or cannabis oil is obtained by the extraction of cannabis or hashish. It is a concentrated form of the plant containing many of its resins and terpenes - in particular, Tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC), Cannabidiol (or CBD), and other cannabinoids. There are a variety of extraction methods, but most involve a solvent such as butane or ethanol. Hash oil is usually consumed by smoking, vaporizing or eating but sometimes other methods are employed. Hash oil is sometimes sold in cartridges to be used with pen vaporizers.

A very popular Sativa strain, often stimulating creative behavior and energizing head highs. It’s thought to originate in various tropical regions of the world, specifically in Mexico, Colombia, and parts of South East Asia. Haze plants are some of the tallest growing varieties of cannabis, often reaching 20 feet (or six meters) tall. Because of its size, it often takes longer to harvest, which makes it one of the more difficult plants to grow. Haze is commonly crossbred with Indica strains to create award-winning strains like Northern Lights. Other popular strains of haze include Super Lemon Haze and XXX.

Refers to a local variety of cannabis that was taken from its native land and propagated in another geographic location while maintaining its original genetics. This means that the strain is pure, having never been crossed and always grown in its natural environment. The landrace strains are commonly named after their native regions (ex. Afghani, Thai, Colombian, Hawaiian, etc.) and the traces of these native strains are sometimes detectable in the names of its crossbred progeny.

Cannabis that is typically cultivated for its industrial uses such as oils and topical ointments, as well as fiber for clothing, paper, rope, building materials, and more applications which don’t involve intoxication. As hemp is naturally a high-growing plant, it is usually grown outdoors to maximize its size and yield. The focus is not on producing buds but on building the length of the stalk for fiber production. It has very low levels of Tetrahydrocannabinol (or THC), typically less than 0.3%, but much higher Cannabidiol (or CBD) concentrations.
